What a day of love life and freedom…
As youth we have been to enough and more parties, concerts, shows.. but none of it left us electrified as yesterday…
The Youth Day 2009 ended yesterday..but for all of us it was like a beginning, the beginning of a new life. It was just crazy..im still trying find the perfect words to explain that experience we had.. I don’t think none of us ever will..that was the beauty of it..it was inexplicable. By the end of it all of us were just dumbfounded and were gasping for breath.
The morning started off - the St. Peter’s college hall packed and overflowing with Youth from all walks of life.. you name it we had it there…!! It was just crazy, just to stand there and watch the crowd fill up and I doubt if they had any clue what was awaiting for them. The conditions were pretty bad. Warm, sweat, dry.. giving all possible reasons for the youth to leave..yet the crowd only kept increasing..
The day started off with a blast, the praise team was led by the Lord, it was obvious because it wasn’t too long before all the youth started raising their hands and clapping for the Lord.. most probably for the first time in their lives. And then came Suzi’s testimony followed by thatha’s message and adoration. It was just WOW…!!!!! All of us just forgot where we were..the only truth we knew was Jesus was THERE..! right beside us… so tangible so powerful…im stuck for words once again.. and so many youth were just too shocked to believe what was happening to them.. simply lost in the presence of Lord.
Every time we paused for breaks (breakfast and lunch) there was this little fear inside us. Will they run away.. it was a good chance for those who didn’t like it.. they could have easily walked off during those breaks. But No! we were such fools to even think so.. coz then we realized that God had already taken over the meeting.. All of them if not more of them returned to their seats only to expect more power and love. We celebrated holy mass and it was just unbelievable around 1800 youth actually stayed back to celebrate the Eucharist. Could it get any better….well actually it did
The Final anointing…!!!
I cannot find anymore words…. No words will justify the power that took over that place… we didnt know if we were sitting or standing... it was as if some major electrical energy was cut loose on us. And as for me that power was the only power that could set us free!! That power that healed our past, our wounds, our broken lives, our weaknesses, our sins, our addictions, refresh our memories and made us completely new people..!! New to live for him – the only master and God in our lives.
Suddenly everything became new, as if somebody scooped out everything from within us…. Wonder where all that dirt went! As if it matters :) what matters now is Jesus..its all about Jesus and I. a brand new journey with him.
Finally after much effort we were able to calm ourselves down. We were just high!! Way too high..! thank God we were inside the hall and worship songs were going on, if not anybody could have easily miss understood… we simply went berserk.
Thatha shared the most beautiful words during the final prayer. It really melted my heart. To carry on this experience we have to be faithful to God. Thatha said“we cannot be faithful God with our own effort.. we can be faithful to God only because God is faithful to us” It pierced my heart. It was so true, it is so hard to be faithful to God! How do u remain faithful when the world waits with jaws wide open. Yet we worry no more… as for me yesterday was the most amazing experience I had ever had. And I know for a fact that he will never let us go.. he will never loose his grip on us… even though it may hurt us he still will never loose grip…if need be he might even sqeeze us or scrape us but he just WONT LET US GO!!
Praise the Lord..!!! all in all it was just a what we could call a “WOW” experience! (I have used so many exclamation marks in this article, but I’m just trying to emphasize on the wow factor) God is great..and if we live - we will only live for him..him and him alone… Jesus is enough!!
