The community of the Risen Lord conducted a Four-Step retreat at St. Mary's Cathedral, Badulla, over the weekend of the 29th of September 2006. On the first day of the retreat there were over 1700 people who gathered at the cathedral. On the second day there were over 2000 people. Residents of Badulla claimed that this was the largest gathering that they had seen at this cathedral for as long as they could remember.

Close to a 100 brothers and sisters of the community traveled from Colombo to Badulla to serve. Among the various services they provided, they ran a creche of over a 300 children, allowing parents to participate in the retreat free of distractions, while others helped in preparing food and refreshments for the participants.

The power of God manifested in that place was nothing short of amazing. For two whole days the participants were engrossed and lost in the heart of God. Our eyes have been truly blessed to witness what God did among the people of Badulla.

We were also overwhelmed by the generosity of the people of Badulla. There was one family that provided dinner for the community, preparing meals for over a 100 people every night.
