The discussion group is meant for free exchange of ideas. You can start off a discussion by sending an email to the discussion group (risenlordcommunity@googlegroups.com), which in turn, will be automatically sent to the members of the “virtual community”. They in turn, participate in the discussion by replying to the email. These emails are stored in the discussion group website, sorted by the discussion thread.

Before, you can post a message to the discussion group, you have to become a member of it. To become a member of this discussion group, please of this group, stating the following:

  • Who you are
  • Where you are from
  • How you are acquainted with the Community of the Risen Lord.
  • The email address you want your correspondence sent to

The moderator screens all membership requests manually, before adding them to the discussion group. This eliminates the possibility of malicious computer programs from automatically joining the group and harvesting email addresses for spamming.

About Discussion Groups

Wikipedia, the popular online encyclopedia, defines a discussion group as a web based resource for holding discussions and posting user generated content. The discussion board creates running conversations with "threads" using the email messages it receives. Threads are topical connections between messages on a metaphorical "corkboard".

Discussion Group Website

Discussion groups have a long history of being used as support groups. For example, parents who have lost a child can join a discussion group for grieving parents and share their feelings. Others, in the group, who are typically counselors or parents who have had the same experience, share their insights and support them through their grief.
