With the rapid advances of technology in this information age, our ministry is no longer limited to our own shores. The weekly messages preached at our prayer meetings are available on our websites and are only a click away, irrespective of where you live. This has drawn people who live in distant countries, among different people, to be joined together by the spirituality that is emanating from the Community of the Risen Lord.

In this context, we have begun to realize that the time has arrived to talk to one another, share our faith with one another and inspire one another to become a truly global and virtual community. To this end, we have setup a blog and a discussion group. Once these get into full swing, we plan to set up skype conferences and hopefully, conference calls, where we can interact in real time.

The blog and discussion group is not limited to those outside Sri Lanka. In fact, if you are in Sri Lanka and have access to the Internet, you can serve the virtual community by ministering to those beyond our shores, by sharing your faith vision, insights, and testimonies.

About Virtual Communities

Wikipedia, the popular online encyclopedia defines a virtual community as a group of people that primarily communicate or interact via the Internet, rather than face to face. Wikipedia continues to say that the traditional definition of a community is of a geographically circumscribed entity (neighborhoods, villages, etc). Virtual communities, are inherently dispersed geographically, and therefore are not communities under the original definition. However, if one considers communities to simply possess boundaries of some sort between their members and non-members, then a virtual community is certainly a community. In fact those with Internet access most often keep closer contacts with those outside their locality than their immediate neighborhoods.
